"Heritage City also known as the African Kingdoms and Empires Theme Park and Resorts was inaugurated by Nigeria's President Olusegun Obasanjo on March 1st, 2007. The Park, featuring African and Oriental architectural designs will showcase Africa's rich history. In addition to normal park rides, the park re-creates ancient African Kingdoms, Empires and rulers; brings to life African movies, festivals, legends and folklore. Monuments honoring heroes of African Independence struggles will be built and scientific discoveries of the origins of human life will be showcased. The park will also herald the development of residences, hotels, movie theaters, retail outlets, sports facilities and other services."
